Camp weeks:

Week 1 : July 8 to 12, 2019

Week 2: July 15 to 19, 2019

Do you want your children to learn about their food’s path from the farm to the plate? Join Farm to School’s summer camp at Oka Abbey where children will have the opportunity to: make a big garden, attend workshops on food transformation, learn to clean sheep wool, attend entomology (insect science) and animal genetics workshops. And let’s not forget the building of an incredible chicken coop!

Every Friday, parents, children and grandparents will be invited to participate in the Big Quiz in which they will compete against one another on various agro-environmental topics that they have learned throughout the week! To finish off the week, the kids will prepare a market to sell fresh and local produce.

For those young ones with an entrepreneurial spirit, agricultural leadership activities will encourage them to express themselves about different topics relating to the agro-environment and related challenges. Examples of topics include: having chickens in courtyards, the role Quebec agriculture plays during the summer, the definition of a green city, etc. The week will end with a presentation given by the children to their parents and other key actors to express their points of views.
